Mr. John Suggs, 53, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at the Emergency Department of Elkhart General Hospital on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 1:30 pm. He was born in Elkhart on April 5, 1969 to the late John Suggs, Sr. and Everlena Watson Suggs, who survives John in Elkhart.

Also surviving is a brother, Ernest "Terrell" Suggs, also of Elkhart, and a loving host of extended family, good friends and thoughtful neighbors.

Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart is hosting private services for the family. Cremation is scheduled to take place and burial will follow at a later date at Little Pine Cemetery.

John's biggest love was to be around his friends and his family, and he particularly looked forward to having his uncles over for a visit. For the most part, John was a quiet soul who loved the simplicity of just sitting quietly, but his demeanor generally changed to excitement at the hint of a backyard barbecue or holiday get-together.

He also loved to cook (fried chicken and bacon were two of his most requested dishes), attended Roberts Temple COGIC when he could, and spent time watching football or basketball.
