Sept. 15, 1964 - June 10, 2009

ELKHART -- John Patrick Scott, 44, of Elkhart, died at 10:32 a.m. Wednesday (June 10, 2009) at Elkhart General Hospital after a heart attack.

He was born Sept. 15, 1964, in New Orleans, La., to Ernest Smith and Minnie Scott.

He is survived by one daughter, Charmaine Scott, at home; one son, Travon P. Erickson of Elkhart; and his mother and stepfather, Minnie Lee and Webb Arnold, at home.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Eliza Scott, on June 6, 2009.

Mr. Scott was a sports fan and enjoyed fishing and watching movies. He had a lifelong disability that prevented him for working, so he used his time to develop a closer relationship with his family.

Services are planned later at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Scott will be cremated.
