Obituary

ELKHART — John David Pressler Jr., 68, of Elkhart, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, Oct. 28, after an extended battle with lung cancer.

He was born March 15, 1947, in Elkhart, to John David Pressler Sr. and Betty Lou (Mercer) Pressler.

In addition to his father, survivors include two sons, John David III (Heather) Pressler of Syracuse and Michael Samuel Pressler of Fort Wayne; one daughter, Christina "The Favorite" (Charlie) Troncin of Henryville; two brothers, Ransom (Linda) Pressler of Goshen and Philip Pressler of Elkhart; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Thank you, Britney Orr and Angela Woolwine, for being such amazing caregivers and for loving Dad so much.

After graduating high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

John was employed with Teledyne and later with Dynamic Metals for 44 years prior to his retirement in 2012.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, and for an hour prior to the 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Father Daniel Repp will officiate. Inurnment will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 12 in Rice Cemetery.
