John Richard Miller, 73, of Elkhart, formerly of Jones, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Elkhart Meadows. John was born on January 29, 1947 in St. Louis to the late Willard and Millie Miller. On May 29, 1992, in South Bend, he married his true love Bonnie L. (Shelt) Davidson, Bonnie survives as well as 3 children; Adam, Kris and Jenny Miller; 3 step-children, Bruce Davidson, Christie Davidson and Cathie (Matt) Mabry; also 3 grandchildren, Sydney Davidson, Landon Mabry, Joshua Phillips and Justin Sarber.  His step-daughter Carrie L. Sarber preceded him in death in 2018

Richard drove a gas tanker truck for many years, after retirement, he worked for Constantine (MI) Schools in maintenance and custodial care. He proudly served in the U.S Navy aboard an air craft carrier during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed wood working, water skiing, boating and just loved to be outdoors. He was an avid dog and animal lover as well.

Per his wishes cremation was chosen, under the care of Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart.
