John F. Martin, 56, of Elkhart passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at his home.

John was born on December 4, 1963 in Chicago, IL to Lee Martin Sr. and Ruby Jean (George) Martin.  He married the love of his life, Renea (Rhodes) Martin on November 2, 2019 in Three Rivers, MI.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Ruby; brother, Anthony "Tony" Martin and sister, Tyeesha Mchie.

John is survived by his wife, Renea of Elkhart; brother, Lee Martin Jr., 5 sisters, Janet Martin, Donita Mchie, Quinita Mchie, Nikki Sloan and Michelle Martin; 3 daughters, LaShonda Haithcox, Lajoye (Quamar) Tolbert, Mayta Starks; 3 sons, Princeton Wright, John F. Martin, Jewel Martin and Christian Martin; 4 step-children, Tashea Rhodes, Charita Quinn, Kenyauda Rhodes, A'bryanna Rhodes; 3 brother-in-law, Donald (Karla) Rhodes, Ronnie (Beth) Rhodes, Lee Anthony Rhodes, 2 sister-in-laws, Valarie Rhodes and Laverne Galloway and a total of 18 grandkids whom he loved all from the bottom of his heart.

John graduated from Mendon High School in 1982. He was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Three Rivers, MI. He was really into "God's Word" and reading the Bible. John enjoyed working on cars and riding his "Bike". He also played cards with friends and travelled at a moments notice. Most of all, John was a family man whom loved his family dearly and he will be greatly missed.

A private visitation and funeral service will be held at New Jerusalem Church, 817 8th Street, Three Rivers, MI with Pastor Tony Bennett presiding. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery in Three Rivers, MI. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN is assisting the family.
