He was born July 23, 1922, in Syracuse, to John and Jesse (Firestone) Hann. He married Donna J. Simpson on Oct. 2, 1965, in Elkhart. She died in April 1996.
He is survived by three granddaughters, Ruth Van Vorst and Tonya Wilson, both of Elkhart, and Tammy Richardson of Goshen, who served as his caregiver. Eight grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Hann; and one brother, Dallas "Devon" Hann.
There will be no visitation or service. Cremation will take place, with burial in Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart, at a later date. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hann was a lifelong railroadman, serving as a conductor for the New York Central, Penn-Central and Conrail railroads before retiring in the early 1980s after nearly 40 years of service. He was a member of Kane Lodge 183 F & AM of Elkhart and, in his free time, enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors.
Mr. Hann was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and had spent many years raising Airedales.
