Mr. John V. Freimund, 97, of Parrish, FL and formerly of Elkhart, passed away peacefully of natural causes at Tidewell Ellenton Hospice House in Palmetto, FL on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.

He was born in Elkhart on Aug. 6, 1921 to the late Julius and Maud (Boyer) Freimund. He later married Cora Hamlet in Elkhart in 1941. She precedes him in death as well.

Surviving is his daughter Linda Everson and granddaughters Erica Evans and Megan (Drew) Papczynski.

John's life will be celebrated at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart beginning Friday, Apr.12, 2019 with a visitation from 5 – 8 pm. Services will continue there on Saturday, Apr. 13, 2019 with a funeral at 11 am and visitation beginning at 10 am.

John retired in 1984 from the RV industry, but he also farmed and worked in the printing dept. at the Elkhart Truth. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church for over 85 years and was also an accomplished pilot.
