John H. Dixon, 50, of Elkhart, passed away at his home on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 5:52 pm.

He was born in South Bend on August 26, 1968 to the late Howard Dixon and Mary Lou (Hibner) Dixon, who survives him. He married Sandra L. "Sandy" Botts on June 1, 2002 in Elkhart. She survives at home.

Also surviving is his brother, Bill (Lori) Dixon and a host of loving extended family and in-laws. His dear son, Christopher Paul Dixon, recently preceded John in death.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 226 W. Lexington Ave., Elkhart at 3:00 pm, with visitation beginning there at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Pastor Terri Peterson will officiate and Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart have been assisting the family with arrangements.

John has been a security guard for over 20 years and was employed for Beacon Healthcare Security Services (Elkhart General Hospital) at the time of his passing. He was also a 32nd degree Mason with Elkhart's Kane Lodge and was a member at St. John's, where he enjoyed singing and being active within the church. In his free time he enjoyed practicing martial arts, vacationing in Montego Bay, Jamaica and cheering for his beloved Fighting Irish.

Memorial donations may be given to the church or a Hopebridge Autism Therapy Center.
