Obituary
ELKHART - John William "Bill" Helpin, 94, of Elkhart, passed away of natural causes at 11:50 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at the Elkhart Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Jan. 22, 1917, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to the late John E. and Martha (Hewes) Helpin. He married Geraldine Weinhoft in Elkhart in 1941. She died in Elkhart in 1998.
Surviving are son John W. (Patricia) Helpin Jr., granddaughter Lisa M. Helpin and grandson Phillip G. Helpin, all of Elkhart.
No services or visitation have been scheduled, and cremation has taken place in accordance with Bill's wishes. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart is assisting the family during this time.
Bill was a sales representative in the local area for over 30 years, retiring from Globemaster of Goshen in the late 1970s. He was also a devoted crossword puzzle enthusiast.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
