John William Anderson, 85, of Elkhart, went Home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus on Monday, December 23, 2024 at Hubbard Hill Estates.

John was born on April 6, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Charles Joseph Anderson and Ethel May (Larsen) Anderson.

John married the love of his life, Susan M. (Colvin) Anderson in Milwaukee, WI on December 30, 1961. John was very devoted in his faith and to his wife, Susan. John and Susan are both members of Trinity on Jackson Church in Elkhart.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Gail Norris and brother, Robert Anderson.

John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Susan of Elkhart; sons, John W. (Jean) Anderson, Jr., of Elkhart, IN and Donald (Valeska) Anderson of Racine, WI; 11 grandchildren, Sara (Elliot), Elizabeth (Peter), Thomas (Kelly), TJ (Mary Kate), John Robert, Melanie, Michael, Liam, David (Dominique), Timothy, and Anina (Tyler); great grandchildren, Micah, Leon, Issachar "Izzy", Eleanor, Abel, Lila Mae, and Marley; sister, Dena (Jim) Rieckman of Battleground, WA and son-in-law, Terry Norris of Florida.

John served his country in the U.S. Army. John earned his Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Information Systems followed by his Master's Degree in Public Administration at Ohio State University.

In his early years, John was an avid bowler and golfer. John was a hospital administrator for a number of years in the Chicago area. He was also a consultant with various rural hospitals around the United States, and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

John was a driven man who had infectious energy. He was a born leader and always looked at things outside the box. John made friends easily and was an attentive listener. Not only was John was a talented tenor and founding member of the Singing Men of Northern Indiana, he was a founding board member of SonSet Solutions as well.

Visitation for John will be on the day of the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2024 at Trinity on Jackson Church, 2715 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46516 with Rev. Karen Koelsch officiating.

A Celebration of Life for John will be immediately after the visitation at 12:00 p.m. at the church.

Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.
