She was born July 7, 1936, in Sterling, Ill., to Clyde and Catherine R. (McKenna) Conley. On Oct. 20, 1956, in Elkhart, she married Thomas E. Davis. He died Jan. 17, 2007.
She is survived by one son, Mike E. Davis of Elkhart; one daughter, Michelle A. Takerer of Elkhart; five sisters, Nancy (Stu) Erwin and Sharon (Alex) Strati, both of Elkhart, Maureen (Gerald) Leyden of Southbury, Conn., Kathleen (Bruce) Swihart of Solsberry, Ind., and Nora Jean (Greg) Jewel of Granger; and one brother, Bob (Marty) Conley of Elkhart.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Marcia Arcuri; and one grandson, Matthew Wise.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Tuesday funeral service at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Burial in St. Vincent Cemetery in Elkhart will follow services.
Mrs. Davis was a laborer at Federal Paperboard in Elkhart for 29 years until the plant closed in 1987. She then worked at Electromation of Elkhart for another 12 years until retiring in 1999. She was an avid outdoorswoman who loved family activities like camping, visiting state parks and listening to the Municipal Band when it would play at McNaughton Park. She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
