JoAnn Reed, 76, of Elkhart, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

JoAnn Reed was born on May 14, 1947 in Detroit, MI to the late Darrel and Thelma (Delaney) Curtis. JoAnn married the love of her life, Douglas "Doug" Reed on June 24, 1966 in Detroit, MI. He passed away on May 11, 2017.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Doug; brothers, Larry and David and sister, Betty.

JoAnn is survived by her children, Douglas (Katherine) Reed of Elkhart, IN; Donna (Rodney) Hamilton of Granger, IN; and James (Jodi) Reed of Granger, IN; grandchildren, Alexandria and Brendan Reed, and Brittney, Liam (Heaven), and Zane Hamilton; cherished nephew, Mike (Sandy) Curtis; special friends, Brenda Adkins and Linda Sharbnow; brothers and sisters, Charles Curtis, Jerry Curtis, Louise Garner, Joyce Sims, and Donna Curtis. Also, her faithful furry companion, Carley Jo.

JoAnn's family was her life. She was a devoted wife, supportive mother and doting grandmother. You could count on JoAnn to support her family whether it was helping her husband, Doug, with his side hustle of making sandwiches for his coworkers or supporting her children at their various activities, and her grandchildren in all their adventures. JoAnn's hobbies included playing Bingo, losing money at the casino, and camping with her loved ones.

She was a great friend and mom to the entire neighborhood. JoAnn was caring, humorous and crude yet in the nicest possible way.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service for JoAnn will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514. Pastor Jeremy Sarber is officiating.

Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the start of service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN is assisting the family.
