ELKHART — Joann A. Guthrie, 90, of Elkhart, passed away at 1:40 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at Kindred Valley View Nursing facility in Elkhart.
Joann was born in Flora on Jan. 27, 1925, to the late Ralph and Ruth (Flora) Peters.
Surviving is her daughter, Cynthia D. Lanman of Del Rio, Texas.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Miriam Comstock.
In accordance with her wishes, Joann is to be cremated and there will be no service.
Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has assisted the family with arrangements.
Joann lived and worked in the Elkhart area all her life and was proud to be the owner of Joann's Bar and Grill for 23 years before retiring in 2007.
She was a lifetime member of Women of the Moose, Goshen chapter. Joann was an avid supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and was a Big Sister. She was delighted when one of her Little Sisters would return to Elkhart after many years to reconnect with her.
