JoAnn L. Bainter, 83, of Bristol, passed away peacefully December 16, 2021 at Goshen Hospital.

JoAnn was born on March 2, 1938 to Ann Ringler.

JoAnn was a 1956 graduate of Elkhart Central High School. On April 11, 1958, she married Clement "Bud" Bainter. He Survives along with sons, Richard (Sam) of Nappanee, Timothy (Mary) of Bristol and Jeffrey (Anna) of Bristol, a brother, Terry (Tanya) Fair of Elkhart and son-in-law, Dave Schelle of Elkhart, 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Phoebus, mother, Ann Fair and adoptive father, Robert Fair, brother, Ben, sister, Janet, daughter, Michelle Schelle and daughter-in-law, Shelley Bainter.

JoAnn did secretarial work for the Pontiac Garage and later for Bainter Construction. She spent many hours making crocheted or embroidered blankets for babies and children. She enjoyed travel and had a special fondness for Holland, windmills and tulips. In her retirement years, JoAnn did Amish taxi driving.

JoAnn was a member of the Bristol Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and enjoyed teaching others about the Bible.
