Joan M. Willis, 84, of Elkhart, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020 at Riverside Village in Elkhart to be reunited with her husband, Charles Albert Willis Jr. She was born in Elkhart on May 31, 1935 to the late Gerald R. and Katherine (Deal) DeMeyer.

Joan is survived by her children, Robert "Bobby", Dale, and Barbara Willis; 8 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia Lott, Carol Johnson, Jermaine Gogler; and brother, Jerome "Jerry" Carol DeMeyer. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, William "Billy" Willis; daughters, Patricia Johnson and Rebecca "Becky" Willis; sister, Emeline Goss; and brothers, Paul L. "Midge" DeMeyer, Luther Paul DeMeyer, and Richard DeMeyer.

Joan worked at Elkhart General Hospital for over 15 years as a cafeteria cook and was an active member of the The Salvation Army church in Elkhart. She loved the Lord and enjoyed teaching his word as a Sunday school teacher at the church for several years.  Joan loved to crochet, especially when she got to make baby blankets, and made many delicious meals for her family through her love of cooking.

In accordance with Joan's wishes, cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
