Joan E. Spry, 78, of Elkhart, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at her residence. She was born in Three Rivers, MI on November 19, 1943, to the late Thelma Wait.

Joan is survived by her children, Kevin (Debra) Spry and Elizabeth (Thomas Thompson) Ontiveros both of Elkhart; grandchildren, Dayna, Antonio, Dakota, Carlos, Zander, Brooklyn, and Donavan; and four great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald N. Spry.

Friends and family are called to gather for a visitation on Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. She will later be laid to rest at East Union Cemetery in Union, Michigan. Joan was a humble, simple, and kind woman who kept to herself and was very soft spoken. She worked for Syndicate Store Fixtures of Middlebury, currently called Lozier, for 25 years as a machine operator. When Joan had the chance, she enjoyed spending time and catching up with her high school friends by joining them for breakfast. In her younger years, her children fondly remember camping in Wabash with her during the summertime. Joan will greatly be missed by her loving family and many friends.
