Joan Elizabeth Jacobs, 87, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at her home.

Joan was born on November 18, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Clayton Raymond Lawson and Margaret Lawson. She married the love of her life, Andy Jacobs, on May 25, 1990. He passed away on January 22, 1998.

Joan is preceded in death by stepson, Daniel Ryan Jacobs.

Joan is survived by her sons, Keith Clayton Williams of Arizona, Kurt Meyer Williams of Japan; stepson David Christopher Jacobs and a host of loving family, neighbors and special friends including Lori Bayer, Carolyn Maust and Tracy Postma.

Joan was a CNA up until one year ago. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church. Joan was also a member of the Red Hat Society.

Joan enjoyed collecting antiques and shopping for treasures. She was an avid reader and enjoyed singing in the church choir. In her younger years, Joan water skied, and square danced with her friends.

Joan was a generous lady who also helped others in need. Laugher is the best medicine were words she lived by.

There will be a family and friends gathering at a later date. Per the family's wishes, she will be cremated. Joan will be cremated and buried with her husband, Andy at a date to be determined.
