Obituary

Jimmy Watson Jr., 69, residing in Elkhart, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Golden Living Center, after an extended illness. Jimmy was born on February 9, 1951 in Caruthersville, Missouri to the late Jimmy T. and Fannie (Lee) Watson.

Jimmy graduated from Elkhart High School and worked as a mechanic for many years. Jimmy was very independent and had an entrepreneurial spirit; he had his own lawn service and enjoyed helping the elderly. Family was also an important part of his life, he enjoyed attending the reunions of his large extended family, working on cars and liked to fish.

Surviving is his son, Jimmy (Erika) Brown; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; six brothers, Robert Watson, Rev. Jerry (Ernestine) Watson, Ray Watson, James (Terri) Watson, Dewayne (Davetta) Watson, Paul Watson; and 3 sisters, Everlena Suggs, Shirley (Willie) Edwards, Kathy (John) Tucker and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A home going service for Jimmy Watson Jr. will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2021 with 1 hour visitation prior at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart.  His brother Rev. Jerry Watson will officiate. Burial will follow at Little Pine Cemetery, Goshen.

Jimmy's family would like to thank the staff at Golden Living Center and AseraCare Hospice for the care and kindness given to Jimmy over these past 17 years.
