James "Jim" Keith McNeely, Sr., 82, of Elkhart, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Elkhart General Hospital.

Jim was born on May 1, 1939 to the late, James Calbert McNeely and Ethel (Hunley) McNeely in Ward, WV.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ethel; brothers, Paul and Jerry McNeely; sisters, Sophie Walker, Maxine McAllister, Janice Craigo, Nettie Gunoe, Luella McNeely, Marguerite McNeely and Ruth Craigo.

Jim is survived by the mother of their children and best friend, Nora (Clonch) McNeely of Elkhart; sons, Jim K. McNeely II of Columbia, MO and Timothy (Carol) McNeely of Granger, IN ; Sisters, Linda Santrock of Charleston, WV and Barbara (Houston) Lanham of Warren, MI; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Jim was a machinist with White Hall Labs and Adams & Westlake Ltd. for many years. He took great pride in his work.  Jim honorably served his country in the U.S. Airforce from 1957 to 1963 and was a member of the National D.A.V. He was also an active member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Elkhart. Jim was a man of deep faith who loved the Lord. His family meant the world to him.

A Memorial Service for Jim will be at 5:00 pm on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Highland Park Baptist Church, 54162 Highland Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 with his son, Jim McNeely II and Pastor Nathan Craig officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be after the service in the church. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting the family.
