Jessie James Cockerham was a wonderful man born on November 10, 1957, to Willie and Virginia Cockerham, Liberty, Mississippi

If the world had a Jessie within every fifth individual, we would have an awesome world. He had enormous talents, with a beautiful smile. Jessie was a man of integrity. He was kind, considerate, self-driven, trustworthy, compassionate, and extremely generous. His hand was extended to everyone, and he would literally give the shirt off his back. No one was a stranger, and his door was inviting to all.

He adored his family and quickly became the admiration of many. He worked at Flexible Foam, as a supervisor for 18 years and later gained employment in a leadership role at Cutters. His goal was to always provide a comfortable and stable living environment for his family, earning mega respect from his coworkers and peers.

Jessie had an uplifting sense of humor, and a magnetic smile. He engaged in sports: fishing, football and track and enjoyed cooking and making Sunday meals for his family. But his real passion was grilling and keeping his sauce secrets only to himself. If you knew Jessie, you know he will be dearly missed.

He leaves to cherish his love and memories: one loving daughter, Tiffany M. Raymond (who fondly referred to her dad as smurf), 7 grandchildren with one the way, His loving mother, Virginia Cockerham, Elkhart, Two sisters: Dadine (Edward) Malone, McComb, Mississippi, Brenda Ann (Gerald) Johnson, Okinawa, Japan. Two brothers: Willie Cockerham, Jr., and Frank (Judy) Cockerham, Elkhart, Indiana.

Jessie was preceded in death by, his father, Willie Cockerham, Grandfather, Willie James Cockerham, Grandmother, Rosie Lee Mitchell, and Mary Jane Cockerham. And a stepson Derek Kowalski.

Services celebrating Jessie's life will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, with visitation from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service. Cremation was chosen and will follow the service.
