ELKHART — Jerry Lee VanHarlingen, 67, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at his residence.

He was born March 19, 1944, in Elkhart to the late Howard W. and Wavern I. (Stocker) VanHarlingen. On Nov. 23, 1991, he married Jerri Lynn Mayhousen. She died March 23, 2011.

Surviving are his daughters, Leandrea (Shawn) Lange and Christina (Johnathon) Attkinsson, both of Elkhart; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; as well as a son, Brian, and daughter, Jennifer, from a previous marriage.

Jerry worked for 46 years at Crosbie Foundry in Elkhart. He was an avid fisherman and loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren.

Funeral services for Jerry will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, 400 W. Mishawaka Road, Elkhart, where friends may call for one hour prior to the service. Pastor Don Reed will officiate. Jerry will be laid to rest next to his wife at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 16, 2012, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
