Surviving are sons Jerry L. Akers, Jr. and Bryan Akers; daughters Annette Akers-Starner and Kelly (Brett Struble) Akers; his brother Paul (Vicky) Akers; sister Iris (Elbert) Kemper, and a host of grandchildren, extended family and friends, all who will miss Jerry's easy-going smile. In accordance with his wishes, Jerry arranged for a simple cremation with no services. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart have been assisting with these wishes.
