Jeffrey Barnes Thomas, 68, of Elkhart, IN, died at home with his loving family May 11th, 2021.  Jeffrey, follower of Christ and loving husband of Kathryn Thomas was born September 12, 1952 to Mark and Alys Thomas.  Jeffrey proudly attended G.C. Marshall High, Falls Church, VA, before moving to Elkhart in 1969, where he met his sweetheart, "Lady Kathryn" and graduated from Elkhart High School in 1971.  The couple celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2020.

Family was very important to Jeffrey.  He is survived by his wife Kathryn, and children, Lisa Thomas, Yvonne and Brian Jepsen, Anita and Matt Schwartz, nine grandchildren, his father and stepmother, Mark and Judith Thomas and siblings Scott, David, Elizabeth, and Trevor.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Alys Thomas and granddaughter, Maci Jepsen.

Jeffrey worked in flute manufacturing with more than 20 years at Gemeinhardt, before designing and building his own line of Thomas Flutes.

He was a friend and mentor of many. A monumental moment in his life, God used him to save the lives of two young children from drowning in the St. Joseph River.

Jeffrey's passions in life were faith, family, food, fishing and football. Go Irish!

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Right to Life Michiana.
