Obituary
ELKHART -- Jeffrey T. Jernstrom, 49, of Elkhart, passed away at 6:35 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2011, at his home.
He was born Aug. 22, 1961, in Mishawaka, to Thomas J. and Jane L. (Williams) Jernstrom. On Jan. 6, 1996, he married Brenda J. (Stump) Jernstrom in Elkhart and she survives.
In addition to his wife and parents, other survivors include his sister, Pam (Larry) Holcomb of Osceola; two stepdaughters, Robin Woods of Baton Rouge, La., and Autumn Prestly of Indianapolis; stepson Robert Prestly of Baton Rouge; mother- and father-in-law, Richard and Martha Stump of Wakarusa; 16 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and his faithful loving dogs, Twister, Budde, Gracee Rose and Breeze.
He was employed as a group leader at Doors Plus for nearly 15 years. He was a member of Lutheran Church of The Redeemer. Jeffrey loved spending time with his grandchildren, taking photographs and cooking. He dearly loved his wife and enjoyed spending time with family members at gatherings.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the 10 a.m. memorial service on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Lutheran Church of The Redeemer, 3300 Benham Ave., Elkhart. Pastor Andrea Hickey will officiate. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
