UPDATE: A Celebration of Life Service for Jeannine I. Mann will be held at Billings Funeral Home on Friday, April 30, 2021 beginning at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., A family meal will follow at the Billings Event Center, Burial of her cremated remains will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
Jeannine I. Mann, 81, passed away at Golden Living Center in Elkhart on Sunday, November 1, 2020. She was born on April 27, 1939 to Harvey and Mildred (Kiefer) Mann in Kalkaska County, Michigan, near Central Lake.
She is survived by three sisters, Thelma (Jim) Bixler and Marcia (Don) Troup of Elkhart, Elenor Newton of Burkburnett, Texas, and four nieces and one nephew.
Jeannine graduated from Elkhart High School in 1959 and did voluntary service at the Home for the Aged in Rittman, Ohio. She worked at the Elkhart County Home before its closing. Her last job was home health care for Elkhart General Hospital, always enjoying relating to older people.
Her hobby was knitting and later crocheting, making many sweaters, hats, and afghans, which she gave away. She was known for her generous soul and was a giving person.
She was a long-time member of the former Roselawn Mennonite Church and was always helpful with vacation bible school and Sunday school. Billings Funeral Home is in charge of her arrangements. Cremation was chosen. A memorial service and burial at Prairie Street Cemetery will be at a later date. Memorials may be given to Church Community Services.
