Jean E. Reisacher, 95, of Elkhart, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Chico, TX on January 2, 1931, to the late Russell and Beatrice (Buckner) Harshman.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Roger Reisacher; sons, Marc (Kelly) Reisacher, Philippe (BaiMei) Reisacher, and Daniel (Cheryl) Reisacher; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Emalou Massa; and sister-in-law, Betty Harshman. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Robert Harshman, Doyle Harshman, and Lois Metzler.
Jean was born in Texas and was raised in church where she devoted her life to Christ. Along with her sisters, they attended seminary together in Johnson City, New York. Jean was a missionary in France. It was there she met Roger and they were married in Bordeaux, France on September 4, 1961. Then they returned to the USA where their children were born. Jean attended Grace College in Winona Lake, IN, where she completed a bachelor’s degree in music education. She and her family went to Chad, Africa, then to France as missionaries. She taught piano, voice, and English in the Pastoral Institute in Algrange, France, and ministered to women in the church. Jean and Roger served overseas until retiring to Indiana in 2010. Jean survived cancer in 2012, but her health slowly declined after that. Jean will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 10 – 11 a.m. with a service to take place at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Mishawaka, 724 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN 46545 with Pastor Peter Jones officiating. A graveside service will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mishawaka, 724 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
