ELKHART — JC Newsome, 76, of Elkhart, passed away in his home Sunday, Nov. 8, following a sudden illness.
He was born in Collierville, Tenn., on Jan. 5, 1939, to the late Clara Wriggins Rozie and Jimmy Newsome.
He leaves to cherish his legacy his longtime companion, Dorothy Wilson of Elkhart; children Phillip Bratcher, Terrence Bratcher, Rodney (Marcie) Anderson, Wanda (Arthur) Woods and Sandyhai (Kevin) Reese; brothers Tommy Jr. (Phyllis) Rozie and Tommy Lee Johnson; and sister Willie Mae (Ray) Jones. A host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends loved him dearly as well.
He was preceded in death by children Sheila Jordan and Dwight Washington, four brothers and two sisters.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 16, 2015 prior to the 11:00 A.M. funeral service at Agape Missionary Baptist Church, 248 W. Wolf Ave., Elkhart. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery.
Arrangements have been placed under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart.
JC was retired from Holland Metal Fabrication as a brake press operator. He had given his life to the Lord and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
