Jay George Killian, 61, of Elkhart, died Tuesday, September 29, from a brief illness and is now home with his Savior.

He was born February 18, 1959, in Sullivan, Missouri, to George and Arzetta (Coffman) Killian. On February 28, 1981, he married Tamyra Tate in Elkhart, IN. She survives him at home.

Also surviving are his daughters Jennifer (Bryan) Flanery of Clarksville, TN and Kayla Killian of Nashville, TN; grandchildren Gracie, Kaid, Rylee, and Titus Flanery; Step-Mother Pauline Killian of Goshen, IN; Siblings Kathleen (Ted) Gruver of Elkhart, IN, Linda (Burt) Morgan of Edwardsburg, MI, Louella Firestone of Syracuse, IN, Terry (Donna) Martin, of Wakarusa, IN, Jerry (Sherry) Martin, of Goshen, IN, Jeff (Michelle) Killian of Nappanee, IN, and Jan (Mitch) Clark of Fishers, IN, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and good friends.

Jay was a 1978 graduate of Jimtown High School and graduated from IUSB in 1983. He was locally employed as an Accountant. Jay was a devoted Christian and celebrated his relationship with His Lord daily. He was an active member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church for nearly three decades, where he sang in the choir and coached "Bible quiz" teams.

Jay was also a faithful and loving father and grandfather. He cherished his family and saw good in everyone. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Notre Dame Irish fan. His passion for the Notre Dame basketball team was evident to all.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 1010 Mishawaka Road, Elkhart, on Monday, October 5, 2020, at 4:00 pm, with visitation taking place one hour prior. Pastor Brian Whidden will officiate. Per Jay's wishes, cremation has taken place with the assistance of Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart.
