Janie Pauline Feather, 74, of Bristol, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025 after a brief stay at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Janie was born on November 29, 1950 to James West and Helen (Treat) Shelton in Springfield, MO. She married the love of her life, Custer Reed Feather on July 19, 1987 in Springfield, MO whom passed.

Janie is survived by her son, Michael R. Feather; dear mother, Helen Shelton; sister-in-laws, Marianna Black and Esther Feather; brother, James West and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Janie was a retired teacher at Seventh Day Adventist Christian School for over 40 years. She was a long time member of Elkhart Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved music whether it was playing the organ at the church, leading the Bell choir or playing piano, guitar or recorder.

Janie was a very determined and goal-oriented woman. She had a talent to lead and teach that carried on until her passing.

A Memorial Service at Elkhart Seventh Day Adventist Church will be held at a later date.
