Janice Joann Selner, 72, of Union, Michigan, passed away Friday morning, September 18, 2020 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by love and her family. Janice was born on August 24, 1948 in Delong, Indiana to the late Wayne Harold Hiland and Ferne Marcella (Rensberger) Hiland. In addition to her parents, a granddaughter Erika Beachy preceded her in death.

On September 4, 1999, she married Jim Selner in a ceremony in Mottville, Michigan.  They shared 21 years of love and laughter. Surviving is her husband Jim; sons, Denny Ball, Timothy Selner, Douglas Selner and daughters Teresa (Greg) Byrkett and Deborah Selner. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; brother Jim (Terri) Hiland and 3 sisters, Jinx Flynn, Beverley (Harry) Ernsberger and Wanda (Jerome) Holderman.

Janice was a loving wife, mom, grandma and homemaker. She loved tending her garden, cooking and baking for family. She also liked driving around and enjoying the scenery, watching deer and other wildlife and doing jigsaw puzzles. Her pride and joy were her dogs, K.C. and Mair Ce, that had passed away earlier.

Visitation for family and friends will be 4-7 pm Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Billings Funeral Home.

Services celebrating Janice's life will begin at 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St, Elkhart.  Pastor Thomas J. Short of Elkhart East Christian Church will officiate.
