GRANGER -- Janice D. Sanders, 73, of Granger, passed away Friday, April 1, 2011, at Woodland Manor in Elkhart.
A native of Elkhart, she was born Nov. 2, 1937, to Arthur A. and Helen M. (Schear) Johnson. They preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Jon Sanders of Granger and Thomas (Michelle) Sanders of Lexington, Tenn.; daughter Diana Stoddard of Granger; sister Linda (Joe) Alcozar of Granger; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Janice was a 1955 graduate of Elkhart High School. In 1995, she retired from Miles Laboratories after working there for 33 years.
She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Women of the Moose #73 and was a 20-year volunteer with the Bristol Police Department Posse.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 5, from noon until 1:45 p.m., at which time a procession will leave from Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, for a 2 p.m. graveside service in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Granger. Pastor Jim Tormey will officiate.
