Obituary

Elkhart: Janice "Jan" Kay Wise, 77, passed away peacefully in her home on March 4, 2023, with her loving husband Claude and her dog Bella by her side. Jan was born September 26,1945, to Benjamin and Kathryn (Behney) Null in Wakarusa Indiana.

Jan never knew a stranger, from The Kopper Kettle, Jan's and the River Inn, she built a life full of memories worth sharing and stories worth telling.

Jan is survived by her loving husband Claude, sister Betty Elliott, son Mark (Renee) Finn, daughters Christy (Richard Hurt) Finn, Julie (Charles Smith) Opfer, Kim (Kevin) Ols, Brenda (Jackie) Burdin, Cathy (John) Anderson, who all believe they are her favorite; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grand children

She was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Kathryn, 8 brothers and 6 sisters.

Janice loved Spending time with her Family and friends and enjoyed her casino trips, chicken wings, Diet Pepsi and a cold Miller Lite.

We invite everyone to celebrate Jan's life on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart.

A meal and fellowship will immediately follow at the Gathering Place at Centre 1231, located on the grounds of the funeral home.

Per Jan's wishes, cremation was chosen. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request memorials to Southern Care Hospice. Condolences may be made online at www.billingsfuneralhome.com
