BRISTOL -- Janet Dee Shanholt, 70, of Bristol, passed away at 12:03 p.m. Friday (Feb. 4, 2011) at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born in South Bend on March 5, 1940, to the late Haven and Fae (Whiteman) Trigg. She married Jack L. Shanholt on Aug. 20, 1955, in LaGrange. He survives.
Also surviving are his daughter, Balinda S. Shanholt of Elkhart; sons Gregory L. (Patricia) Shanholt of Bristol, Ryan L. Shanholt of Elkhart and Jack L. Shanholt Jr. of Bristol; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters Irene (Richard) White and Carol (Roger) Maier, both of Elkhart; and brothers Roger (Phyllis) Trigg of South Carolina and Steven Trigg of Bristol. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Mazar and Karen Sue Trigg.
Janet was the co-owner along with her husband of Shanholts Office Cleaning since 1974. Janet was quite a history buff and enjoyed doing crafts, oil painting, gardening and playing the piano. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be dearly missed by all.
Funeral services for Janet will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at Life Tabernacle Church, 1135 Middlebury St., Elkhart, where calling hours will begin at noon. Pastor Isaac Johnson will officiate, with burial following at Little Pine Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart.
