Janet Eileen Ostrom, 69, formerly of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Washington Healthcare Center in Indianapolis. She was born in Elkhart on August 4, 1952, to Harold and Robin (Carlson) Thorn.

Janet is survived by her daughter, Leslie (Brian) Lathrop; grandchildren, Dakota and Brynn Lathrop; sister, Sue Thorn; nieces, Melanie (Brandon) Hoehn and Kristy (David) DeFranco; and a great niece and nephew. She is preceded in death by her parents.

In accordance with Janet's wishes, family and friends are called to gather for a sharing of memories graveside service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Rice Cemetery, 400 James St, Elkhart, IN 46516.

Janet was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren every chance she had. She attended college at Indiana University South Bend and worked in the sales department for Goshen Buick GMC for ten years before retiring. Janet was a member and secretary of the local Noon Optimist Club. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.
