ELKHART -- Janet Eileen Lantz, 74, died at 7:40 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at her home after an extended illness.
She was born March 10, 1936, in Mishawaka to August M. and Lois M. (Cook) Shultz. In 1962, she married William E. Lantz in Elkhart, who survives.
Son Douglas M. (Mary Jo) Lantz of Middlebury; daughter Diane (Michael) Cooper of Elkhart; brothers Arthur Shultz of Apopka, Fla., and John Shultz of Logansport; sisters Carolyn (Harold) Shultz-McKee and Judith (Clarence) Rush-Templeton, both of Elkhart; and six grandchildren survive.
Her sister, Ruth Hardman-Springsteen, and brother, Richard Shultz, are deceased.
In accordance with Janet's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial celebration of her life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment will take place at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart at a later date. Brother Kevin Rush, lay pastor of New Hope United Methodist Church in Eaton, Ohio, also Janet's nephew, will officiate.
Memorial donations may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
