Janet L. Hile, 97, of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at her home.

Janet was born in Elkhart, IN on December 29, 1927, to her late parents, Charles and Grace Sibert. She married the love of her life, Joseph Hile on March 28, 1947 in Elkhart.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Hile on July 21, 1989; her son, James "Jim" Hile, and her brothers, William and Raymond Sibert.

Janet is survived by daughter, Jo Ellen Thiele of Goshen, IN; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Janet graduated from Elkhart High School. She worked at Miles Laboratory/ Bayer for 43

years. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the Moose Lodge and knitting in her spare time.

Janet was very well loved within the community and was the leader of the Hile household.

A Celebration of Janet's life service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 with her niece, Willow Sibert presiding.

A Gathering of family and friends will be 1 hour prior to the start of the service from 12:00-1:00 pm at the funeral home.

A private interment will be at Carleton Cemetery in Elkhart.
