ELKHART -- Janet Marie Ellis, 58, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Elkhart General Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 12, 1952, in Constantine, Mich., to the late Bob and Vida (Bowman) Arnold.
Surviving are her daughter, Megan Ellis of Elkhart; grandchildren Angelina, Alex, Jason, Michael and Isabella; and her former husband, Ron Ellis of Elkhart.
Janet worked as a waitress in the area for many years, including the Bulldog Restaurant & Lounge and Poor Tony's. Janet was a 1972 graduate of Constantine High School. She loved to dance, spoil her grandchildren and will be missed by her cats Pumpkin and Marshmallow; and Amanda, who has preceded her.
Visitation for the family was private. Cremation has taken place, with burial at a later date in Constantine Cemetery, Constantine, Mich. Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart, assisted the family with arrangements.
