ELKHART -- James B. "Jim" Reamer, 69, of Elkhart, died at 11:01 p.m. Monday (Feb. 18, 2008) at home.

He was born Feb. 26, 1938, in Chicago to Clarence and Elsie (Decker) Reamer. He married Donna J. Cooper on Feb. 6, 1998, in Goshen.

She survives, along with one stepson, Jeff (Becky) Cooper of Goshen; two stepgrandchildren; two brothers, Ted Reamer of Jefferson City, Mo., and Jerome (Betty) Reamer of Elkhart; one sister, Mary Lou Grant of Valparaiso; and one half-brother, Pat (Gabi) Reamer of Cordova, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmie Reamer, and his brother, Richard "Dick" Reamer.

There will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will gather for a 1 p.m. committal service Wednesday (Feb. 27, 2008) at the Memories Chapel at Rice Cemetery, Elkhart. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is assisting with arrangements.

Mr. Reamer was general manager of the Counter Top Division at Forest River for the past 14 years. He had worked at Skyline Corp. and Broadlane Mobile Homes, both in Elkhart.

He loved his two dogs, Susie and Candy, and enjoyed fishing, traveling, motorcycles, playing golf and riding his Honda Gold Wing. Mr. Reamer served in the U.S. Army from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1959.
