Obituary
ELKHART — James B. "JB" Powell, 86, of Elkhart, passed away at Elkhart General Hospital May 21.
He was born Dec. 30, 1929, in Liberty, Miss., to the late Willie and Rosalie (Causey) Powell.
He later married Mary H. Floyd on Dec. 18, 1954, in Liberty. She survives him at home.
Also surviving are his daughters Roz Williamson and Deborah Powell; siblings Jimmie (Marjorie) Powell, Maryella Caston and Margie Powell; grandchildren Joshlyn (Edwin) Dade, Jace Williamson and Joshua Allen; and great-grandchildren Janel, Julissa and Christian Dade.
In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be at the New Vision of Life Church, 2936 Lillian Drive, Elkhart, at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1. Pastor Marvin Pace will officiate and burial will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.
JB was a heavy equipment operator for 35 years.
Memorial donations may be given to the church.
