James F. Potthast, 63, formerly of Elkhart, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in Tecumseh, MI.

James was born on December 26, 1958 in Milwaukee, WI to Fritz and Marilyn (Kohn) Potthast.

James is preceded in death by his brother, Daniel in 1974.

James is survived by his sons, Brian (Justine) Potthast of Gastonia, NC and Craig Potthast of Madison Heights, MI; parents, Fritz and Marilyn of Granger, IN and 2 sisters, Cathy (Mike) Mammolenti of Edwardsburg, Mi and Karen Utech of Jackson, WI.

James was a graduate of Concord High School and graduated from University of Evansville. He was a manager of marketing at a cabinet company in Adrian, MI. He was an avid artist known for his watercolor paintings.

A Celebration of his Life will be at a later date.

A private burial will be at St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery in Elkhart at a later date. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart is assisting the family.
