ELKHART -- James Edward "Jim" Piedmont, 52, of Elkhart, died Wednesday evening, July 28, 2010, at his home.

Jim was born Jan. 31, 1958, in Elkhart, to the late James M. and Nellie (Earlenbaugh) Piedmont.

He leaves behind loving sister Michelle (Larry) Tanner of Union, Mich.; special friends Vi Kucharski of Elkhart, Dave Knoll of Ketchum, Idaho, and John Drummond of Mishawaka; and former wife Barbara McGowen of Elkhart.

Jim worked for 16 years as an engineer at Dec-O-Art in Elkhart. He was a proud Harley-Davidson motorcycle owner and enthusiast. He was a member of H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group) and ABATE of Indiana. Jim graduated in 1976 from Elkhart Central High School, where he was active in sports.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday (Aug. 9, 2010) at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, where a memorial service to celebrate his life will begin at 6 p.m. Pastor Dale Turner will officiate. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
