ELKHART — James E. Miller Sr., 64, of Elkhart, passed Sunday, Oct. 30.

He was born Jan. 24, 1952, to the late Shed E. and Dorotha (Pulliam) Thomas.

His former wife, Michelle Miller, son Dominick Miller, four sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.

He is survived by two daughters, Melanie and Maria Miller; three sons, James Miller Jr., Shawn Thomas and Jeremy Ratliff; three grandchildren; five sisters, Lorene Echols, Patricia (Tracey) Rainey, Ruth Echols, Brenda (Michael) Snider and Cheryl Dunham; brother Charles Echols; and nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives.

James formerly worked at KIK Custom Products and Trinity Lutheran Church.

He liked music, cards, watching football and was quite a jokester.

He was a loving and caring father and grandfather.

A memorial service will be at noon Friday, Nov. 4, at Agape Missionary Baptist Church, 248 W. Wolf, Elkhart.

Billings Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
