James "Jim" E. Magyar, 88, of Bristol, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Center for Hospice Care, Esther's House.
Jim was born in Mishawka, IN on October 16, 1936 to the late Nicholas George Magyar and Faye Marie (Boatman) Magyar. He married the love of his life, Dolly (Mc Glocklin) Magyar on June 21, 1959 at First Nazarene Church in Elkhart.
He is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Lois, Joanne, Jack, Bill, John and Pete.
Jim is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dolly; children, James Nicholas Magyar, Pamela L. Magyar and Daniel R. (Tammy) Magyar; grandchildren, Amanda (Dan) Schrock and Christopher (Danielle) Magyar; great grandchildren, Mason, Cora, Milo and Lucas; brothers, Steve, Mike, Alex, Fred and Joe and sister, Mary.
Jim served his country in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He was a hard worker and was employed at Walsh and Kelly, Michiana Paving, Patriot Homes, Skyliner and Bach Industry.
Jim enjoyed going to the casino and playing card games. He was an avid golfer in his younger days. Jim also enjoyed feeding birds and squirrels. He took pride in his well-manicured yard. Jim also enjoyed a good cup of coffee at the Red Bird Café with his friends.
Most of all, Jim was a great husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family and will be greatly missed.
Jim could be summed up in these words…"he never quit!"
There will be no formal services for Jim. Per Jim's wishes, he will be cremated.
