Obituary
James D. "Jim" Lawson, 87, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, March 31, at Elkhart Hospice House.
He was born April 28, 1927, in Elkhart, to Everett and Elsa (Laird) Lawson.
On March 24, 1973, he married Irene M. (Stinnett) Lawson in Edwardsburg, Mich. She survives at home.
Other survivors include one son, Larry (Carol) Lawson of Orem, Utah; two daughters, Mary (Terry) Toth of Tucson, Ariz., and Rosanna (Chris) Glover of Rock Ledge, Fla.; one brother, Wilbur (Betty) Lawson of Shipshewana; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and his nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Everett and Charles Lawson, and one sister, Freda Miller.
Jim was employed at C.G. Conn for 28 years and was later employed at CTS for 17 years prior to his retirement.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place at Altera Cremation Services. His cremated remains will be buried in Adamsville Cemetery at a later date.
Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is entrusted with arrangements.
