ELKHART — James F. "Uncle Jim" Wright, 67, of Elkhart, passed away in his home following an extended illness Friday, Oct. 17.
He was born in Mexico, Mo., on July 16, 1947, to the late George and Helen (Turner) Wright.
He married Nancy C. Bennett on Nov. 26, 1988, in Elkhart. She survives at home.
Also surviving are his children, James (Heather), Johnny (Ann), Crystal and Melissa Wright, David Bennett and Jennifer (Chris) Brown, all of Elkhart; brothers John (Cheryl) Wright of Elkhart and Bill (Laura) and Bud Goff, both of Mexico; sister Eljeana (Jack) Finchum of Elkhart; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation is to take place, with a service to be scheduled at a later date.
Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart is handling arrangements.
Jim was a life-long truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, spending time with his family and camping with his twin brother, John. An avid animal lover, he leaves behind his special companion, Maggie the Chihuahua.
Memorial donations may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County or Center for Hospice.
