ELKHART -- James E. Fuller, 63, of Elkhart, died at 1:37 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 31, 2010) in St. John's Health System, Anderson.
He was born April 5, 1946, in Elkhart to Raymond Eugene and Mignon May (Swarm) Fuller. In December 2007, he married Jianwei Chen in China; she survives in China.
Mr. Fuller is also survived by one daughter, Amy (Steve) Reed of Muncie; one son, Troy (Michelle) Fuller of Battle Creek, Mich.; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Mark (Stephanie) Fuller of Beaver, Pa., and Kevin (Terry) Fuller of Edwardsburg, Mich.
Mr. Fuller was a 1964 graduate of Elkhart High School who earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1968 from Manchester College and his Master of Science and Education degrees in 1973 from Saint Francis College, Fort Wayne. He taught music at Prairie Heights High School from 1969 to 1974.
He enjoyed playing his favorite instruments, the piano and saxophone, as well as camping, fishing, hunting, singing and spending time outdoors. He owned Jim's Plumbing & Heating for 23 years, and was a member of Eagles Elkhart Aerie 395, Moose Lodge 599, Elkhart, and American Legion Post 143, Bristol.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, and one hour prior to Friday's 11 a.m. funeral service at the funeral home. Pastor Dave Hickman of Tri Lakes Community Church, Bristol, will officiate. Interment will be in Adamsville Cemetery, Edwardsburg.
