GARDEN GROVE, Calif. — James M. Fierce, 57, of Garden Grove, formerly of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at his home.

He was born on Jan. 8, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur M. "Art" Fierce.

Surviving are his mother, Barbara B. Fierce, and a sister, Leslie A. Fierce, both of Elkhart.

James graduated in 1979 from Elkhart Central High School and received a bachelor of science degree from Purdue University.

Jim treasured his dogs and loved living in California. He enjoyed living near the ocean and hiking along the many trails in his area.

Per his wishes, cremation was chosen and he will be scattered in the Pacific Ocean he loved so much.
