ELKHART — James Bradley "Jim" Satterfield II, 67, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, Aug. 1, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Nov. 24, 1946, in Atlanta to James B. Satterfield I and Jeanette I. (Morton) Satterfield.
On Dec. 10, 1988, he married Doris A. (Zeilinger) Satterfield in Elkhart. She survives at home.
Other survivors include four sons, James B. III (Sally) Satterfield of Walhalla, S.C., Shawn M. (Lori) Beltz of St. Johns, Fla., Blake A. (Lisa) Beltz of St. Augustine, Fla., and Derek J. Beltz of Elkhart; three sisters, Dianne Osborne, Kathy J. Dardis and Jeanene C. (Bud) Konanz, all of Elkhart; former spouse Marsha K. Vetter of Burlington, Vt.; one aunt, Marilynn Hoffman of Elkhart; five grandchildren, Darwin, Haze and Oliver Beltz, Anna and James Bradley IV Satterfield; one stepsister; and four stepbrothers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, James L. Colman.
Jim proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1964 until 1968.
He was employed at Miles Laboratories for 34 years prior to his retirement.
Jim was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. He served as a Junior Achievement adviser for approximately five years.
The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, celebration of life service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Sister Nora Frost will officiate. Inurnment of his cremated remains will take place at a later date in Prairie Street Cemetery Veteran Towers.
