BRISTOL -- Jake Calvin Wagers, 78, of Bristol, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Oct. 22, 1932, in Manchester, Ky., to the late Jake W. and Emma (Smallwood) Wagers. He married Ann Frantz on May 4, 1963, in Elkhart County. She died March 10, 2003.
Surviving are his sons, Jack and Billy Wagers of Bristol, John Wagers of Edwardsburg, Mich., Kenneth (Jamie) Wagers of Middlebury and Homer Wagers of Paducah, Ky. Sixteen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren survive as well.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Troy, Elmer, Mack, Floyd and Bill Wagers, and a sister, Bessie Stevens.
Jake worked at Glaval Corp. for 22 years in the woodworking department. He enjoyed working on automobiles, woodworking and fishing. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place with burial at a later date in Zion Cemetery, Bristol.
