Jackie was born Sept. 16, 1946, in Manchester, Tenn., to the late Thomas Litton and Margaret (Davis) Cooper. She married Ted E. Smith Jr. on Nov. 8, 1963, in Elkhart.
Ted survives in Edwardsburg, along with her two daughters, Shayna (Chad) Howell of St. Louis, Mo., and Kimberly (Terry) Schock of Osceola; and two grandchildren, Morgan and Mackenzie Schock, at home with Kimberly and Terry.
She also is survived by two sisters and a brother.
Jackie was preceded in death by an infant sister and a brother.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, where the service will follow at 7 p.m. The Rev. Bruce Howell of Lighthouse Community Church, Kalamazoo, will officiate. Cremation will follow the services at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and formerly worked at Syndicate Systems Inc. in Middlebury. Jacquelyn had an artistic flair. She enjoyed painting, reading, shopping and old movies. But her favorite time in her life was spending time with her two grandchildren.
